Meet the Team
Matthew is the CEO and founder of ATEL. He founded ATEL following a tragic car accident which resulted in both legs being amputated above the knee and 65% third degree burns to his body. After more than 130 operations, Matthew’s only opportunity to live independently was to design and build a house with environmental controls and assistive and adaptive technology. He wanted to use this experience to help others with disabilities live in the comfort and dignity they deserve.
Matthew Warnes has been working to design and deliver innovative supporting living housing schemes in the UK for the past three years.
ATEL provides complete independence for those living with a disability by delivering pioneering Adaptive Technology. This Adaptive Technology is an investment in the future wellbeing of adults with disabilities.
Matthew has developed an innovative combined care and technology supported living model which not only gives adults with learning and physical disabilities the opportunity to live independently, it also reduces the cost of providing assisted care for local authorities and care providers. This model has been welcomed and praised by the sector and HB Villages and ATEL have set a vision to build fit-for-purpose assisted living premises in every local authority in the country.
